Brazuca is the moniker of the official match ball of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil.
The name is derived or contracted from the terms “Brazil” and “bazuca” (bazooka). Brazuca attributes to the Brazilian way of life. The term is also used to describe the Brazilian diaspora brought about by economic reasons.
The moniker was selected though public voting. Brazuca got 77.8% of the total votes, while two other names “Bossa Nova” and “Carnavalesca” got 14.6% and 7.6% of the votes respectively.
